Liminal Worlds by Damir Polic

Damir Polic's striking new series Liminal Worlds is a culmination of a nearly fifteen-year long exploration of his London-based studio practice and painting methodology. For years, Polic has been meticulously studying and capturing minuscule details and fleeting moments observed on the surfaces of his abstract artworks.

Utilising macro photography alongside cutting-edge image-to-image generative diffusion models and upscaling technologies, Polic magnifies and reimagines this intricate microcosm of textures and colours - transcending its original scale and form - into vibrant, expansive digital compositions reminiscent of geological and urban landscapes.

The final artworks are transferred onto fine art textured paper, bridging the gap between the limitless digital realm and a tangible form. This transition re-establishes physical boundaries and invites viewers to embark and reflect on their own journey through these landscapes, discovering new details, dimensions and stories with each observation.
